Lost in Clementi Forest

Some time ago, I found a post in social media that depicts a rather mythical forest in western part of Singapore, that is Clementi Forest. I am amazed, is this really in Singapore? How come I never heard of it! Further to my surprise, it is near Green Corridor, a walking trail that I have visited a number of times recently. The trail is just like a straight line and I did not find any path to the forest. How could someone go there?

Clementi Forest

After some more research, I am able to find the entrance to the forest. It's quite near the bus stop and there are a number of buses to go there, so it's quire convenient.

Alighting from the bus stop, you can see there is a river nearby.

On the left part, along the fence, you can find the pathway.

In the beginning, it's flat and easy. But you can see, it's a bit muddy. It's not recommended to go there if it was raining on the day or the day before. It is quite slippery. Further down the road, the path gets smaller and smaller.

Panoramic view of the forest:

If you decide to push through the depth of the forest, it starts to get challenging, especially if it's muddy.

Muddy path. It may sink when you step in.

Small ravine close to the end of the forest. Be careful when going down. Best if you bring along friends so you can help each other.

Aftermath

The forest is not lengthy, soon after a few obstacle, you will arrive in the Green Corridor. Nevertheless, I ended up having a lot of dirt on my clothes due to the mud. The view is more on the beginning of the track. Once reached Green Corridor, a few hundred metres away is Bukit Timah Railway Station.

Bonus:
Nearby Clementi Forest, there is also an abandoned Old KTM Rail Tunnel.

The tunnel is located just behind the bus stop. You can hold on the handrail while going down, especially when it's muddy.

The tunnel is quite short and dark. But it's quite safe to explore.
